Witt Watch is the story of Edmund Witt II (c1785-c1847) who in the 1820s made his way from Stokes County, North Carolina to Union County, Tennessee. It traces his descendants through 220 years. The record is not complete because not all branches of his family were located and a few family members did not respond to queries. Also some descendants, who had provided data in the early 1980s, could not presently be located. Thus their lines could not be brought up to date. Nearly everyone with known addresses was contacted. An overwhelming response has resulted in over 3600 recorded descendants. Material has also been obtained from family Bibles, war records, county courthouses, and cemetery inscriptions.
